Stephen Baldwin making oil spill doco

Stephen Baldwin has spoken out about the documentary he is directing and producing about the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

Explaining the genesis of the project, called The Will To Drill, Baldwin revealed he had been in New Orleans to discuss a screenplay he had penned when he travelled to Louisiana and witnessed the devastation first-hand.

“I got into a car and drove the two hours down to Plaquemines Parish – which was the ground zero of this situation – and met the people in the process of considering all of this,” the 44-year-old said.

“This is a situation that is far worse than anybody is expressing at this point. Each and every day, as the situation gets worse and worse, it becomes more of a motivation for me to want to have the documentary be potentially as impactful as I believe it can,” The Usual Suspects star told PopEater.

Diff’rent Strokes star Gary Coleman has died following a fall

Diff’rent Strokes star Gary Coleman died today (Friday) after failing to come out of a coma. He was 42.

The diminutive actor had been rushed to hospital in Provo, Utah, on Wednesday after suffering what his family called "a serious medical problem" after falling at home and hitting his head.

He later fell into a coma and was on life support after suffering an intracranial haemorrhage.

He was pulled off life support Friday morning – the decision reportedly made by his wife Shannon Price – and passed away with loved ones at his side.

The distinctive actor, who lived in Santaquin, about 55 miles south of Salt Lake City, Utah, had been through a troubling spell in his life, including a long string of health problems.

He has been battling kidney disease since his childhood – the disease hampering his growth to 4ft 8ins – and twice had kidney transplants in 1973 and 1984. He required daily dialysis in his everyday life.

He also had heart surgery last year and was hospitalized earlier this year having had a seizure on the set of The Insider.

Suri Cruise pays for her own lunch

Little Suri Cruise has used her own money to pay for lunch.

The daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes was spotted waving a $5 bill during a trip to her favourite Beverly Hills bakery.

The four-year-old was visiting Le Pain Quotidien with mum Katie over the weekend for lunch.

And when it came time to pay, Suri whipped out her own $5 bill and paid the waitress herself.

Suri, wearing her treasured fuzzy pink pig slippers and a matching dress, was seen laughing as she held onto the money and seemed in high spirits as mum Katie carried her out of the diner on their way home.

Katie, 31, who wore a pair of flared jeans with rips on them and a black vest with a floral design along the bottom, was accompanied by Tom Cruise’s sister Anne on the family trip.

Last month Suri celebrated her fourth birthday and her parents threw a suitably extravagant party for their daughter.

Tom Cruise Chose Katie Holmes 4th

How desparate do you have to be to audition a wife? Apparently Tom Cruise stooped that low before he wed Katie Holmes.

According to former Scientologist Marc Headley, who used to create films for the whacky religion, Tom had trouble meeting women after his split with Penelope Cruz. So, Tom’s closest friend David Miscavige devised a scheme to get some of Hollywood’s leading ladies in. A casting call was sent out saying, “There’s an upcoming Tom Cruise movie you might get a part in. Come for an audition.” The requirements? She had to be single, pretty, and in her twenties.

So, Tom refused the female Scientologists like Erika Christensen and Sofia Milos. They weren’t star enough. Instead, he wanted Jennifer Garner, then Scarlett Johansson, and finally Jessica Alba. After Jen and Jess refused, Scarlett was freaked out by the religion. Finally, Katie “audtioned”, and she won the part.
