How desparate do you have to be to audition a wife? Apparently Tom Cruise stooped that low before he wed Katie Holmes.

According to former Scientologist Marc Headley, who used to create films for the whacky religion, Tom had trouble meeting women after his split with Penelope Cruz. So, Tom’s closest friend David Miscavige devised a scheme to get some of Hollywood’s leading ladies in. A casting call was sent out saying, “There’s an upcoming Tom Cruise movie you might get a part in. Come for an audition.” The requirements? She had to be single, pretty, and in her twenties.

So, Tom refused the female Scientologists like Erika Christensen and Sofia Milos. They weren’t star enough. Instead, he wanted Jennifer Garner, then Scarlett Johansson, and finally Jessica Alba. After Jen and Jess refused, Scarlett was freaked out by the religion. Finally, Katie “audtioned”, and she won the part.

Rumor has it that Paris Hilton may have treated herself to an early Christmas present, in the form of pouty new lips.

Why oh why would Paris want to go and do something as silly as injecting Restylane into her already perfectly fine lips? Clearly she is one of the vainest people in Hollywood. I guess because Britney got her lips plumped, Paris had to do it to compete.

Only problem with doing this is she is stuck with them for a couple of months. She should have checked with Jessica Simpson who did the same thing last year and who admits “It was a big mistake”.

Angelina Jolie’s character in Beowulf apparently shows a little more skin than the actress expected. She didn’t expect to “come out as much” and was a “little shy” after seeing the final product, according to Fox News:

“I didn’t expect it to feel as real and so, especially because of the type of character I play, it was funny at first and then there were certain moments where I felt actually shy and called home and just explained the kind of fun movie I had done that was digital animation was, in fact, a little different than I think they were expecting.
